Current Affairs of India :- The Maratha Reservation !

On 29th of November the three-year-long  efforts of passing the bill for providing reserved seats to Marathas in jobs and education came to be successful when Mr.Fadanvis led Maharashtra Government passed this bill after an era of brutal outrages and continues protests. This have opened up new doors for the Marathas but also led to many new challenges and issues for us as a country . Let's look at it's major benefit and drawbacks !

1. The bill of Maratha Reservation in field of education and jobs was passed without any intruption by the Maharashtra Government

Key points to understand:-

1. 16% reservation is provided to the families with the income less than, 8lakhs/annum.

2. Although this reservation will not be applied in examinations like UPSC !

3. The medical and engineering fields will be a part of this reservation.

4. Around 40 youngsters have lost their lives in rallies while some of them commiting suicide . This success is a tribute to their sacrifices !

Benefit of this reservation :-

The maratha students and youth which were not able to pay the fees or couldn't find jobs will now take a sigh of relief as 16% of the total seats will be reserved for them . Also there would be some fee consetion for them.

Drawbacks of this reservation :-

After Scheduled Castes , Scheduled Tribes and now Marathas getting their reservations , these are the likeliest responses,

1. Other Castes will too demand for their reservations and this will again be a major issue for more rallies ,outrages and likely violence to occur. Obviously this is not what we want as a country but the ground reality is hard to digest.

2. We are demanding that some seats should be reserved for youth to find the jobs . But the real concern is, ' Where are the jobs ?' The harsh reality is that due to artificial intelligence, most of the techno-based industry have stopped doing their works manually . Therefore most of our doctors and engineers face a major issue of unemployment.

Conclusion :- 

Every coin has two sides, maybe the authority will only show us the better one but it is our responsibility as citizens of this country that we shall remain keen to know what game is being played with us behind the closed doors !
