MUSIC IS LIFE IN ITSELF, HERE'S HOW !!


Music and Meditation are an integral part of our lives. They have the power to change minds, make you smile and remind you of the greatest moments you have ever lived.

Meditation or Mindfulness is one of the most hot topics in today's era, a culture of yesterday and a desire of today. Most of the people often end up getting confused about the 'best' way of meditating. Maybe we have got the basics wrong ! Meditation is something which needs to be practised, not something you will end up getting in a minute or two.


So, everyone knows the basic way of meditating, sitting in Padmasana, closing eyes and FOCUSING on breaths. This is what we must understand meditation is about focusing on something with your physical energy and your mental stillness at a single task , it is the whole essence of mindfulness.

WHY MUSIC CAN BE A GOOD ALTERNATIVE !


It is the reality that we want to meditate but simply sitting at one place is not our cup of tea. So, how if we follow the same principle while doing what we love doing.
This is where music makes difference.
Here are the top five reasons why listening to music can be the best way of meditating.

1. Music  is Fun ! (Obviously)

No one can ever deny that listening to music is one of the things we all like doing. Recently I read in a web article which said that ' According to musical analysts, we as listeners tend to like those songs which connects with our realities.'
That is the kind of value we share with music. So whenever we listen to any music, we 'connect' automatically which is exactly what we have to do while meditating. That is why it doesn't lead to boredom and we can have Fun while meditating.



2. The RHYTHM !!!

Have you ever noticed this striking similarity between the heart and music,
heartbeats and instrumental beats, both work in a rhythm. When meditating in the basic way, we focus on breath that has a particular rhythm and while listening to music, too we pay attention to its rhythm so on both the places, we focus on similar things, only if, we're conscious of it.

3. Both Require Imagination.
Most of us, while meditating, imagine of a deity. On the other hand if we're listening to music, we imagine of it being performed live ( atleast I do it ). So in both the cases, we need extraordinary Imagination which will keep us intact with our goal of focusing. Music can definitely act as a starting step.





4. Music is Best Use Of Free Time.
Instead of adding a cliche story or spending hours in chatting, it's better to take out some time for yourself and get a little more life sensitive, maybe we all can reach height of exploration within ourselves. For some it may help in being calm, for others , being more productive and for others, simply A Pleasant Experience.




5. Music Makes Complex Feelings, Easier
Every music has it's own genre, emotions included in the form of melody. Consistently listening to a particular genre, can help you understand the emotions attached to it better. That is why we hit nostalgia sometimes while listening to music.


So , the next time you grab your headphones,  be conscious that you're about to Meditate..
